Meet Our Radiographer, Yu Shu-Han

'Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.' – Henry Ford.

I'm glad to have been here since Alex started its operations back in mid-2018, experiencing the challenges, growth and progress that our team has achieved throughout the years, including the pandemic journey. Focusing on 'working together' as highlighted by Henry Ford, has been the critical element in our daily work, and with the new campus and team expansion coming soon, I am excited with the possibilities and developments that we can achieve in the future, both individually and as a team.

I am a radiographer specialising in sonography, where I conduct ultrasound scans for patients. My day starts with performing quality assurance checks on the machines before they are utilised for the examinations. Before performing any scans, we always do identification checks on patients and ensure they feel comfortable before proceeding. After the scan, we will give further instructions to the patient, and  review the images before sending them to the radiologist.  A preliminary report will be produced for each scan as well and handed over to the radiologist for final reporting.

An ultrasound scan is a real-time examination with no radiation. It is often used for both health screenings and plays a critical role in detecting abnormalities and providing diagnosis. The information from an ultrasound scan helps our doctors to make accurate diagnosis and further guide clinical decisions on whether certain treatments or interventions are required for patients.
