Dr. Lim Fang Jin is a skilled and patient centric physician who graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2015 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He then pursued his specialty training in internal medicine through the National University Health System (NUHS). Dr. Lim completed his Junior Residency in Internal Medicine between 2019 and 2022, and is currently undergoing his Senior Residency in Advanced Internal Medicine from 2022 to 2024. In addition, Dr. Lim is enrolled in the NUHS Residency Quality Improvement, Innovation, and Patient Safety Distinction Track (QIPS), further sharpening his skills in improving healthcare delivery.
Dr. Lim’s commitment to advancing his expertise is reflected in his post-graduate certifications. He became certified in Advance Care Planning (ACP) in 2018, followed by completing the OPG Accreditation Programme (LPA Certificate Issuer) in 2020. He earned the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) qualification from the United Kingdom in 2021, and in 2022, he obtained the Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) from NUS, Singapore. That same year, Dr. Lim also completed the Acute Medicine Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) as part of his MRCP certification.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lim has held several important leadership roles. In 2023, he became a member of the NUH Pharmacy and Therapeutics Resident Subcommittee and was appointed as the Deputy Senior Resident Coordinator for the Department of Medicine at NUH for the 2023-2024 term.
Dr. Lim is also deeply involved in research, particularly in quality improvement initiatives. In 2024, he was awarded Merit for his project aimed at improving compliance with the use of two patient identifiers during medical team handovers at Alexandra Hospital (AH). Additionally, his work on ensuring timely reviews of Emergency Department lodgers at NUH was recognized with the Sustainability Award in 2024. These accomplishments demonstrate Dr. Lim’s dedication to improving patient care and enhancing the quality and safety of medical practice.
