Dr Benjamin Nah obtained his undergraduate medical degree from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2017. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the National University Health System (NUHS), where he served as Chief Resident, and attained the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom as well as the Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine. He went on to complete fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the National University Hospital (NUH), graduating top of his cohort. In 2025, he was certified as a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Specialist by the Specialist Accreditation Board (SAB), Singapore.
Dr Nah provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care across General Gastroenterology and Hepatology, as well as Liver Transplantation. His clinical interests include steatotic liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and its complications, and portal hypertension. He is currently focused on the prevention and management of Alcohol-related Liver Disease (ALD) and Metabolic Dysfunction–Associated Alcohol-related Liver Disease (MetALD), delivered through integrated models of care that align hepatology services with addiction medicine and community partners. He is proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and has a special interest in advanced endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).
An active clinician-investigator, Dr Nah’s research work focuses on large-scale cohort analyses to refine risk stratification, characterise prognostic markers, and rigorously evaluate therapeutic strategies and clinical outcomes within the realm of Hepatology. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals—including Gastroenterology, Gut, and the Journal of Hepatology. In addition, he regularly presents his research findings at premier international and regional conferences, among them Digestive Disease Week (DDW), the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), Asian Pacific Digestive Week (APDW), and the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL).
Dr Nah is committed to Medical Education and actively mentors the next generation of clinicians under the NUS Clinician Faculty Scheme, teaching both undergraduate medical and dental students. His significant contributions have been recognised with multiple institutional commendations.
