For effective healthcare to occur, critical information must be accurately communicated with patients and between team members. Poor communication compromises healthcare delivery and has the potential of adversely affecting patient outcomes. Poor communication also has a negative impact on team work and has been identified as one of the major stressors for healthcare practitioners.
This workshop examines the concept of patient advocacy in the context of effective communication and explore the challenges confronted by diagnostic radiographers, radiation therapists, sonographers, and ultrasound practitioners in the clinical setting.
Participants will participate in group discussions and practise the Critical Conversation Frameworkᵐⁱ that is designed specifically for medical imaging professionals, to empower them to engage in critical conversations.
