Centre for Innovation in Healthcare (CIH) 1st Health Technology Adoption Workshop and Forum

The Centre for Innovation in Healthcare (CIH), under the NUHS Centres of Excellence, is proud to present the inaugural Health Technology Adoption Workshop and Forum, held on 29 August at Alexandra Hospital.

Healthcare venture fundraising in the United States reached a high of $9.6 billion in 2018, but in spite of that, 90% of all startups failed to make it to the market. The healthcare startup failure post-mortems indicated that two of the top reasons are the lack of clinical validation and cost-effectiveness data of the products. This event will provide practical solutions addressing these challenges, and pave the road to success in adoption, in the healthcare startup arena.

Workshop (8.30am to 1pm)

Led by Associate Professor Joanne Yoong (National University of Singapore) and Mr. Sundeep Shrivastava (Premier Research), this workshop will provide participants with tips and tools to accelerate your prototypes to clinical adoption.

Forum (1pm to 5pm)

Listen to both sides of the story, and learn about potential pitfalls and solutions from entrepreneurs in their personal journeys, as well as the expectations of the healthcare ecosystem regarding adoption of ideas.

The opening address will be by Professor Chong Yap Seng (Dean, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore), and keynote speech will be made by Dr. Daphne Khoo (Executive Director, Agency for Care Effectiveness, Ministry of Health). Featured speakers include Dr. Zubin Daruwalla (PwC SEA Consulting), Ms. Melisa Teoh (MyDoc), Associate Professor Mahash Choolani (INEX), Dr. Rama Serhuraman, (Health Sciences Authority) and Mr. Teo Cher Hwa (National Health Innovation Centre).
